FOR A GOOD NIGHT’S SLEEP, PAINT YOUR BEDROOM BLUE
Want a good night’s sleep? Paint your bedroom blue. Sue Peacock, a UK-based psychologist who specializes in sleep, says colors may affect you psychologically, including your ability to sleep. Some colors may evoke relaxation, while others stimulate your mind and make you more awake. Blue tones tend to have more calming effects on the brain. Blue has been shown in research to reduce respiration and heart rate, which is great for drifting off to sleep. And, after all that, if you don’t choose blue, your next best option is green.
* She knows it’s dark and your eyes are closed when you go to sleep, right?
* Somebody named Peacock should not be telling people one color is better than another.
* So now there’s something else to keep you awake at 2 in the morning: “I gotta paint my bedroom.”
* And while you’re painting your bedroom blue, clean those windows, huh? They’re filthy.
* By the way, if your bedroom is white, don’t be a schmuck – just buy some blue lightbulbs.
