RUSSIAN COUPLE SPENDS 10 DAYS IN TREES AVOIDING BEAR
A Russian couple claims they spent ten days hiding in trees to escape a bear that was stalking them. Anton and Nina Bogdanov said their car got stuck in a remote part of the Kamchatka region, 11 miles from a hot spring they were visiting. They decided to walk to the spring to get a phone signal and call for help when they realized they were being followed by a brown bear. The bear started chasing them, so they ran down a hill and climbed a tree near a river. Hours later, the bear lunged up the tree at them, and they beat it back down by throwing a bag with all their food. The brown bear guarded the base of the tree for two days. When the bear moved away, the couple dashed down the tree and got into the river. The bear was behind them, but got carried a short distance by the current. When the couple reached the other side of the river, they were forced to climb another tree and stayed in it for two days to escape the bear. Then they backtracked to their stranded car by climbing through the trees, a journey that took six days. As soon as they reached the car, some other vehicles approached and they were rescued.
* And worst of all, by the time they finally got to the hot springs, all the massage tables were booked.
* Their first mistake was using salmon-scented body wash.
* The awkward part when you’re a husband-and-wife running from a bear, is making it look like you’re not trying to run faster than the other person.
* Well, ten days in a tree is one way to quarantine if you think you’ve been exposed to COVID.
* Ten days in a tree, no food, chased by a bear. OK, what really happened?
