WHY DO WOMEN LIVE LONGER THAN MEN?
Australian Doctor Zac Turner, who writes a column Ask Doctor Zac on news.com.au., has answered a question from a reader: Why do women live longer than men? His answer: The reason women live longer than men is because they are more honest with their doctors. He says women are more likely to visit the doctor than men, and when they do visit are more likely to be honest about their health issues. Men are conditioned to deflect any vulnerabilities; their strength and health dictate their masculinity. A third of Australian men withhold information from their doctors. One study even found 72 per cent of men would rather be doing household chores, like cleaning toilets, than going to the doctor. Also, men ignore health problems longer, such as growing waistlines, skin spots and scars which can all lead to serious health issues.
* I don’t know. It kinda looks like EVERYBODY is ignoring their growing waistlines.
* Hey, doctors – I bet you could get some guy in the waiting room to clean your bathrooms rather than get a checkup.
* A doctor telling men to go to the doctor or die. What are the odds?
* You know, a shorter answer would just be “the nagging.”
* Men ignore health issues? Has this doctor ever sat in a restaurant next to two older men? “I was up half the night because of my PROSTATE, and ever since the HERNIA I have such AWFUL CONSTIPATION…”
