AUDIO: MATTEL WANTS TO CLEAN UP SCRABBLE GAME
The Mattel toy company plans to eliminate naughty words in the U.K. versions of Scrabble. There are reportedly up to 400 “offensive” words that are being removed, including: “boobies,” “arse,” “goolies,” “wrinklies (very old people),” “boffing,” “farting” and “fatso”. Says two-time British Scrabble champ Craig Beevers (* whose name might also have to be removed), “The woke brigade is ruining our game. I feel this will be the final nail in the coffin for a lot of competitive players.”
* Well… bullocks.
* These competitive players whose game will be ruined – are they all five to ten years old?
* “No fair! I could have won first place if they’d let me use ‘farting’!”
* This would reduce the entire Scottish lexicon to about a dozen words.
