FOOD TRENDS OF 2021
According to food experts, these are some of the Food Trends Coming In 2021:
– The word “immune” will be popping up more, as in “immune-boosting” food. Companies will be incorporating ingredients like vitamin C, mushrooms and adaptogens that they say support the immune system.
– More food calling itself “plant-based,” as opposed to cow-based.
– More people eating breakfast, and a return to the populatiry of cereal, although new cereals will be healthier with high-protein and sugar-free.
– More fermented foods like kombucha and pickles.
– Chickpeas! chickpeas!! chickpeas!!! in everything from pasta to dessert. It’s vegan, super versatile and high in fiber.
– The flavor of coffee is finding its way into more & more foods: granola, yogurt, candy, cereal and even whiskey.
