RINSING YOUR GROUND BEEF
Someone on TikTok created a stir by posting a video of cooking ground beef, and then rinsing it with water in a strainer in the sink. She said is was a tip she “learned in Nutrition (class) a couple years ago.” She then poured the rinsed-off meat back into the pan. Social media is, of course, going nuts, for any number of reasons – the least of which is dumping all that grease down the drain. (* Keep the plumber’s number next to the meat drawer.) Yet more than a few people admitted that they, too, rinse their beef after cooking.
* I run my deli ham under the vacuum. Is that so weird?
* What a waste. I always keep the beef grease to use later when I’m styling my hair.
* The only time you should rinse ground beef under the tap is after you accidentally dropped it on the floor, and before serving it to the kids.
* Get used to this kind of stuff. With Trump on the way out, we’re all going to have to find other stuff to get enraged and polarized over.
* Actually, a lot of guys “rinse their beef after cooking”, if you know what I mean.
* PHONE TOPIC: Do you rinse your ground beef? Do you have any other unique cooking tips?
