MAN BELIEVED DEAD RETURNS HOME; FAMILY CREMATED SOMEONE ELSE
An Indian man who was falsely declared dead from COVID-19 recovered and went home, where he found out his family had cremated someone else. Shibdas Bandyopadhyay, 75, was admitted to a hospital in Barasat on November 11 after testing positive for the virus, and two days later, his family was informed he had died. His family was shown what they thought was his body wrapped in plastic but couldn’t see his face clearly. They cremated the body, but then the man’s son received a call saying his father was alive and that they should come pick him up from the hospital. The family does not know who they cremated.
* Maybe in his next life, he can tell us who he was.
* “Shibdas is alive and coming back home? Well, there goes my new sewing room!”
* “And who’s gonna tell him we sold all his clothes and stuff with a garage sale?”
* And isn’t it nice to live in a country where they just cremate people willy-nilly.
* That’s why you gotta use Saran Wrap, and not that cloudy industrial plastic you get at Home Depot.
