ROBOCALLS NOT GETTING WORSE, SAYS STUDY
A new study by North Carolina State University claims that the amount of robocalls are not, in fact, getting worse. On the other hand, they are not getting better. Researchers say annoying robocalls are continuing to bother consumers at the same rate they always have. Study author Sathvik Prasad says the number of robocalls was virtually identical from month to month. They carried out an 11-month study, from early 2019 to early 2020, monitoring over 66,000 lines for robocalls. During those 11 months, researchers report a staggering 1,481,201 unsolicited calls were received by their phone lines. But while this number is remarkably high but is not increasing or decreasing.
* 1,481,201 robocalls divided by 66,000 phones is 22.4 calls per phone over an 11 month period. I can get 22 robocalls calls in a day. I want one of THEIR phone lines.
* I guess ths study wasn’t carried out by the university math department.
* By the way, Professor Prasad is now the owner of a lovely time share in Kissimee, Florida, if you’re interested.
