MAN CHASES BURGLARS AWAY WITH BASS GUITAR

In Melbourne, Australia, Mike Conomy heard someone banging at his front door. It was burglars, and they bashed down the door and demanded the keys to his Mercedes. Then, they held a knife to his girlfriend’s throat. He was ready to give them the keys, but he couldn’t remember where they were. They had only moved in a week ago. Conomy realized he needed a weapon. He thought, “I don’t have a baseball bat but I have guitars.” So, he grabbed a bass guitar – the cheapest one he had – and came out swinging. Mike said he decided to use the instrument “like a battle axe and chase them down the street”. In his chase, he managed to smash the rear passenger window of the thieves’ getaway car.
