THE PRODIGAL SHEEP

An Australian family said a sheep that fled during a bushfire seven years ago has returned. While in lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Alice Gray of Dunalley, Tasmania, was cooking sausage for her son’s birthday party at the back of their property when she spotted a white, fluffy shape on the other side of a dam. Gray’s husband went to investigate. It was, in fact, Prickles, a sheep that fled when bushfires in 2013 destroyed the farm’s fencing. The Grays got her home, and they are now holding a contest for members of the public to guess Prickles’ weight before her first shearing in seven years. Any money raised will go to the U.N. Refugee Agency UNHCR.
* I’m sure the UN can use that 12 dollars.
* Prickles wasn’t sheared in seven years? She must have had the wool pulled over her eyes.
* Hey, hold on. Alice was throwing a birthday party during Covid-19 lockdown? ARREST THAT WOMAN!
* I’d run away too if my family named me Prickles.
* It’s good to know things are just as slow in Tasmania as they are here in America.
