AUDIO: THE MUMMY SPEAKS

So, researchers at the University of London took an Egyptian mummy, right? And they put it in a CAT scan machine, and they scanned the mouth and throat, and 3D printed it. They then built an electronic larynx and reconstructed what would be the sound he’d make if the mummy came to life again. Here’s the remarkable sound of the great Nesyamun, an ancient mummified Egyptian priest:

* Well, boys, there goes all that grant money down the toilet.
* It’s the biggest waste of money on a mummy since the Tom Cruise mummy movie.
* Did they really do all that work? ‘Cause it sounds like all they did was wire up a broken “Speak & Spell”.
* Maybe Nesyamun could speak eloquently, but he thought things just weren’t that great: “Meh.”
* Next, they’re going to 3D model his lips, and see what he would sound like whistling “Walk Like an Egyptian”.
