SUDDENLY, MONEY! MYSTERY SOLVED

Police in the village of Blackhall Colliery, England, have discovered the mysterious source of bundles of cash that suddenly appeared on the streets: two good Samaritans who placed the wads of money – often upward of £2,000 ($2,600) – around the town in an effort to “give something back” to the community. The large sums of money began appearing at random near the village’s main street in 2014. As much as €26,000 has been discovered over the past six years, often in bundles of €20 notes. But rather than pocket the cash, many of the good Samaritans’ intended benefactors – at least 13 random lucky street-walkers – turned the money in to authorities. Even though the two donors came forward, police say their identity will remain secret.
* Something else that will remain secret: Exactly how much money was turned in to authorities.
* Dropping a few pounds has a different meaning in England.
* The people of Blackhall Colliery are truly honest, good people. Idiots, but good, honest people.
* It’s pretty sad when you’re trying to give away money and you have to put a sign on it saying “Spend Me”.
