MOURNERS SERVED HASH CAKE BY ACCIDENT

Mourners at a funeral in Germany were accidentally served hash cake. The funeral party went to a restaurant after the burial in Wiethagen for coffee and cake, a German tradition. After eating the cake, 13 people reported experiencing nausea and dizziness. A restaurant employee’s daughter had asked her 18-year-old daughter to bake the cake, and she made two – one spiked, one not. The mother mistakenly gave the wrong cake to the mourners.
