AUDIO: KID CAUGHT USING ALEXA TO DO MATH HOMEWORK
Leanne Gormanley from Dalmellington, Scotland was making dinner when she heard her Amazon Echo talking. She peaked around the corner to find her 9-year-old son, Bryce, using Alexa to do his math homework. Bryce didn’t see his mom, so she grabbed her phone and started taping the scene. Bryce is sitting on the floor asking, “Alexa, what is 8 multiplied by 4?” His mom finally asks, “What is going on here?” Bryce whips around to face his mom and says, “Doing my homework.” Leanne did make Bryce re-do his homework by himself.
* Later, Bryce told Alexa to calculate pi, And Alexa told him where he could shove it.
* Boy, what I wouldn’t have given in college for “Alexa, compare and contrast the Industrial Revolution vs. the Age of the Roman Empire.”
* How do you think Alexa would handle one of those word problems? “Alexa, a train leaves Chicago traveling east at 50 miles an hour…”
* Why not just stick one of those Alexa things in front of the classroom and save on teacher’s salaries?
CLIP: A bit of Bryce cheating on his math homework.
