SEAL ALERTS AUTHORITIES TO DRUG RUNNERS

Two foreign nationals who sailed across the Indian Ocean to Western Australia with $1 billion worth of illegal drugs tried to make a getaway when police arrived, but were thwarted by a bellowing seal. French national Antoine Dicenta, 51, and British man Graham Palmer, 34, ran their yacht aground on a reef then took off in a dinghy to Burton Island. Police tracked them to the island, and while trying escape they woke up a huge seal, which let out a bellow and stood up in a threatening posture. The men had the choice of going through the seal or getting arrested and they ended up choosing getting arrested. Police recovered about one ton of drugs half-covered in seaweed.
* Drug sushi!
* A ton? Are these two guys circus strongmen? Superheroes gone bad?
* You sail all the way across the Indian Ocean, wreck your boat and then get ratted out by Slappy the Narco Seal. Not the kind of thing you can plan for.
* After bellowing, the Seal encored with “Kiss From a Rose”.
* Good reporting, although I don’t think it was necessary to know both men had a little dinghy.
