WOMAN FEARS HALLOWEEN, HIRES SOMEONE TO TAKE HER CHILDREN TRICK-OR-TREATING
A British mom who is terrified of Halloween has posted a job ad to take her kids out trick-or-treating. The ad was posted on Childcare.co.uk, a site connecting parents with nannies, tutors and babysitters. The single mother says she suffers from severe social anxiety and gets “very scared at Halloween because of the costumes and speaking to strangers to ask for candy for the kids.” She’s offering $65-an-hour to look after her three young children, aged nine, seven and three. The ad calls for a professional to help the children into their costumes and take them trick-or-treating.
* Social anxiety? More likely she just wants a couple of hours to herself, having to raise three kids alone.
* What’s to be scared of? There hasn’t been a Creepy Clown attack since … oh, right. We’re due.
* Who wouldn’t want to hire a stranger to dress their children and take them out into the night for a few hours with promises of candy?
* This is going to be hard, ’cause when the nannies call her, she’s afraid to answer.
* Meh. Just hang a sign on a drone, fly it up to the door with the kids, and stay back on the sidewalk.
