AUDIO: WOMAN TORMENTED BY SCARY LOUDSPEAKER LULLABYE

A mother living in Ipswich, England, with her two young children has been woken on an almost nightly basis for two months by a child singing “It’s Raining, It’s Pouring”. (* See clip below.) She said the threatening undertone of the song had left her frightened and questioning whether she was imagining things. After months of torment, she finally reported the unusual complaint to Ipswich Borough Council, who sent workers to her address to figure out what was happening. It turned out that the song was coming from a loudspeaker installed at an industrial building near her house. The building had a security system where, if someone set off the motion detector, the song would play and act as a deterrent. What was happening was, the motion sensors were being triggered by spiders crawling across the lenses of the cameras and they had the music turned up too loudly. The company has adjusted the alarm system so it won’t happen again.
* The song has gone away, and will come again some other day.
* I wonder if she’s as let-down by the ending of the story as we are?
* It was itsy-bitsy spiders, I bet.
* This is real Village-of-the-Damned territory here.
* I would have thought a song by Nickleback would be more of a deterrent, but whatever. (Or insert your own love-to-hate-them band; Justin Bieber; etc.)
* Just for fun, someone sneak in and fill her basement with doll heads.
CLIP: The actual song that kept waking the woman up in the middle of the night.
