SOCCER TEAM RESCUERS BECOME HEARTHROBS
Now that the boys soccer team has been found alive, and now that their safety is pretty well secured, and now that the rescue is going to take awhile, what’s left to do but to fangirl over the rescuers. The men working to save the soccer team, with their frequent appearances on the news, have become sex symbols in Thailand. Fans are starting to make and share homemade music videos featuring images of the rescuers,
– Chief among the heartthrobs is dreamy 19-year-old volunteer translator Somjet “Jet” Sae-zhang, who sports a bad-boy earring and fingerless gloves. He’s racked up more than 98,000 followers on Instagram.
– Photos of hunky US Air Force troops helping to extract the boys from the cave are also popular. IN addition, Air Force Capt. Jessica Tait, the on-camera face of the American contingent, has become a familiar image in Thailand.
* You know that Thai youth soccer team rescuers fan fiction can’t be far behind. Just when you thought the world couldn’t get any more messed up.
* You know who’d love to hear this news? The 12 kids and the coach who are stuck in the cave. They’d think this is precious.
* Why not put all twelve boys on the cover of Tiger Beat?
* Next comes the inevitable “Who would you cast in the movie?” game. Let’s go with Daniel Dae Kim and Sandra Bullock, for starters.
* Ladies and gentlemen of the internet – take a break from your computer, go out, and get laid.
