FARMER DUMPS MANURE ON FIELD TO BLACKMAIL NEIGHBORS
In Lordstown, Ohio, local farmer Harvey Lutz is planning to sell his property to the company that owns TJ Maxx. His neighbors aren’t happy about the idea and their protests have put the deal in jeopardy. In return, Farmer Lutz is threatening to build a chicken farm on the land if they don’t let the TJ Maxx offer go through. He’s dumped a load of stinky chicken manure on the property to give everyone a taste – or rather, smell – of what it will be like. Lutz said of his neighbors, “Wake up, smell the roses, maybe; hopefully instead of manure.”
* A literal game of chicken, eh?
* His plan is ingenious, and it stinks, both at the same time.
* They should bring the zoning board into this. Manure the merrier!
* You can’t blame the farmer for wanting to make some money, but what’s worse – the smell of chickens, or the stench of yet another bankrupt department store sitting empty in five years?
