LOCAL ACTOR EMBEZZLES MONEY

A Tallahassee, Florida, man who starred in local theater was arrested for embezzlement. Hunter Flora, 22, was arrested Tuesday on grand theft and other charges in connection with stealing nearly $77,000 in rent money paid to his employer, the Lauer Real Estate Group. Flora was the company’s receptionist. He was supposed to collect checks from clients, then log the payments and issue a receipt and deposit the payments into the company’s escrow account. Instead, he allegedly altered the “Pay To” line so he could cash the money orders himself. And then this – no lie: Flora recently starred in the Quincy Music Theatre’s production of “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.”
* He’ll next be starring in the Leon County Prison’s presentation of “Jailhouse Rock”.
* Meanwhile, the Quincy Music Theatre is wondering where all the box office money went.
* As an actor, maybe he needed the money for “Rent”.
* I wonder if his reviews ever said “Don’t quit your day job”.
