PRESIDENT TRUMP'S MILITARY PARADE

Despite virtually everybody in the military telling him this would be a bad idea, President Trump is still making plans for a military parade. The president has directed the Department of Defense to organize a parade that would take place on Nov. 11 – Veterans Day – according to a memo written by National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster. The memo said that the parade route should begin at the White House and end at the Capitol. President Trump got the idea of a military parade after he witnessed France’s Bastille Day parade last summer as a guest of French president Emmanuel Macron. When he came back he said of the French parade, “We’re going to have to try to top it.”
* That’ll be easy. Our tanks will be driving forward, not in reverse. Sorry – old French “surrender” joke.
* France should pay for half of it for giving him the idea.
* We could put the money into veterans’ health care, but this is better.
* How about if we just fake it, like the moon landings?
* “What’s that big empty space in the parade?” “That’s our stealth fighter.”
