PEOPLE KEEP WALKING INTO GLASS WALLS AT APPLE'S NEW HQ
Apple Inc.’s new headquarters in Cupertino, California – a massive, ring-shaped building – is filled with panes of glass. There are 45-foot tall curved panels of safety glass. Inside are work spaces also made with a lot of glass. It’s all a part of the company’s “openness” aesthetic, designed to foster collaboration. Just one problem – Apple employees keep smacking into the glass. The staff are often glued to their iPhones as they walk the halls and often walk into the panes, according to people familiar with the incidents. Some people have started to stick Post-It notes on the glass doors to mark their presence, but those were removed because they detracted from the design.
* So now they just use smears of blood.
* Luckily, the glass doesn’t shatter as easily as the screens on iPhones.
* The fun part – every time someone walks into a glass wall, everybody else stands up and shouts “WAH-Wahhhh!!!”
* If only Windex didn’t work so good.
* Look for Apple’s next computer, the i-Smac.
* Hmm. I would sue Apple and retire at 24, but that’s just me.
* This way, everybody gets to collaborate in the concussion ward.
