LAS VEGAS SETS UP WEDDING LICENSE KIOSK AT AIRPORT

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, arriving passengers to McCarran airport in Las Vegas, Nevada, can now apply for a marriage license as they are waiting to get their bags from the carousel. The Clark County Marriage License Bureau has set up a temporary kiosk in the baggage terminal for would-be husbands and wives to obtain their marriage certificate. Clark County is the wedding capital of the world – issuing the most marriage licenses throughout the year in the U.S. – amounting to almost 80,000 a year on average. Most of those happen in the days leading up to Valentine’s Day. Only the license itself will be issued at the kiosk. Couples still have to go to one of the many Las Vegas wedding chapels to actually tie the knot.
* Good idea – grab the marriage license fee before they have a chance to gamble it away.
* On the other hand, you might not want to get married if you’re carrying a lot of personal baggage.
* Why not just hand the guy at the kiosk all your money and then get back on the plane? It’ll save you three days of disappointment.
* At least test the applicants with a Breathalyzer.
