MAN BEHIND BOGUS "BOOBIES ROCK!" CHARITY SENTENCED TO A YEAR IN PRISON
The man who created a bogus breast cancer charity called Boobies Rock! and pocketed nearly $2 million to finance his lavish lifestyle was sentenced to a year in prison. Adam Shyrock, 37, of Castle Rock, Colorado, was sentenced last Thursday for willful failure to file a tax return in connection to more than $1.8 million in Boobies Rock T-shirts, hoodies, bracelets and other items he sold during thousands of promotional events. Shyrock used those donations to buy himself a BMW and subscribe to an online dating service, as well as picking up bar tabs and paying for a maid service. In all, Shyrock did donate $75,000 to legitimate cancer groups, but only to avoid lawsuits, prosecutors claimed.
* Busted!
* I’m glad they exposed Boobies Rock for what they were. Er, for what it was.
* Who’s the booby now, huh?
* The worst part of this story? Thousands of people wearing tacky “Boobies Rock” stuff for no reason.
