MARIJUANA GRANDMA & GRANDPA BUSTED AGAIN, SAME STATE
You may remember the story from last month of a California couple stopped on I-80 in western Nebraska after sheriff’s deputies saw the couple’s pickup drift across lane lines. During that stop on December 19, deputies said they smelled marijuana. While searching the pickup, deputies found 60 pounds of marijuana. The elderly couple told police the marijuana was “Christmas presents for family in New York.” Well, it happened again. On Tuesday. Patrick and Barbara Jiron of Clearlake Oaks, California, were arrested on Interstate 80 in western Nebraska. Sheriff’s deputies stopped the couple’s westbound pickup truck, saying it was following another vehicle too closely. The couple’s daughter was driving. A police dog was deployed and alerted officers to the presence of drugs. A search of the couple’s 2016 Toyota Tacoma turned up $18,000 in cash that “tested positive for a strong odor of marijuana,” police said.
* Pot odor? They forgot to launder the money.
* And always add a nice-smelling fabric softener sheet to the dryer.
* Maybe they withdrew some money from a bank while passing through Colorado?
* They should have made a New Year’s resolution to travel through South Dakota next time.
* Grandma, what big pupils you have!
