AUDIO: NEW JAPANESE RESTAURANT: CATCH YOUR OWN DINNER
A new Japanese restaurant in Manhattan is letting customers fish for their dinner from tanks right inside the eatery. Patrons at Zauo can try to hook their dinner from tanks with different kinds of fish, and even other seafood such as lobsters. Patrons use a pole with bait to catch the fish, and staffers haul them in with nets. Once the fish is caught, it’s taken to the chefs and prepared however the customer likes it. Zauo is a Japanese chain with 13 locations; this is the first in the United States.
* Gee, what fun. Can you also churn your own butter?
* Let me guess – they starve the fish in the tank so they’ll bite.
* “No, Mom and Dad – please don’t eat Nemo and Dora!”
* What if you hook another customer’s ear?
* If the people ahead of you are taking too long to catch their fish, throw an M-80 into the tank.
* They’ve got a similar thing in Texas – they give you a lasso and a horse and send you to the cattle ranch out back.
