1 IN 4 HAVE A CLOSE FAMILY MEMBER THEY HAVEN’T SEEN IN TEN YEARS
One in four Americans have a close family member they haven’t seen in over ten years, according to new research. A new survey of 2,000 people by the company Pit Boss Grills, looked at how families stay in touch. The results:
– 22 percent have never had a proper family reunion
– 74 percent sadly felt that they had a close family member they had lost touch with that they’d like to be reunited with.
Here are the things one should expect to happen at a family reunion:
– Reminiscing about old times
– Eating too much
– Awkward politics chat
– Constant questions about your love life (* And grandma doesn’t like it when you ask her those questions.)
– Someone will spill drinks
– Someone will fall asleep (* Usually it’s the person I’m describing my love life to.)
– Old pictures will come out (* No they won’t. They’re back home on a thumb drive in a drawer somewhere.)
– Dancing
* Usually the pictures that come out are embarrassing photos from the last family reunion.
* Have one in four Americans never heard of Skype? Facetime?
* Fine. Let’s just put Love Of Family in the box with Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy.
* Dummies! THIS is what they should do with the research: “Pit Boss Grills. Have a family reunion barbecue, get a $50 rebate.”
