WOMAN FENCE-PROOFS HER DOG
A Chicago woman, tired of her failed attempts to keep her dog from escaping through her fence, came up with an out-of-the-box solution: fence-proof the dog. Vanessa Buccella said her dog has a tendency to escape her yard through any hole he can find in the fence. Instead of replacing the fence with, say, concrete, Vanessa used a harness to strap a small pole to his back perpendicular to his body. This way, he can stick his head through the hole, but the rod prevents the rest of his body from fitting through. She named her invention “the nimrod” and posted a video to YouTube showing how it prevented her dog from escaping through a gap between the fence and her house.

* I give her an A+ just on the name.
* And they say that Yankee Ingenuity is dead.
* Uh oh. Now the dog is learning to pole vault.
* Why not just feed the dog more so he can’t fit through the holes?
* Why would a dog want to escape from such a lovely woman?
* You just know PETA’s not going to be able to let this go, right?
* Heck, at least she doesn’t duct tape the dog’s feet together.
* Hey, we didn’t get to be the dominant species on this planet without some serious smarts.
* Or maybe it’s because animals are so freakin’ dumb.
* Ever see a cat shovel inside a litter box for ten minutes and never manage to cover the poop?
