WEIRD FAIR FOOD

Summer means state fairs, and state fairs mean weird food. Here are some of the items you may encounter at your state fair this year:
– Deep-Fried Jelly Beans in Funnel Cake
– Kool-Aid Pickles. The pickles are marinated for at least one week in refrigerated Kool-Aid, where they absorb the Kool-Aid, causing them to change color and flavor.
– Pork Parfait – It looks like a traditional ice cream parfait – ice cream, chocolate, nuts layered in a clear plastic cup – but a pork parfait layers mashed potatoes, pulled pork and BBQ sauce.
– Deep-Fried Coca-Cola – deep fried balls of frozen Coca-Cola-flavored batter, topped with Coca-Cola syrup, whipped cream and cinnamon sugar
– Dragon’s Breath – liquid nitrogen is used to freeze large, multi-colored puffs that look like oversized Trix cereal, and it taste like fruity cereal. When you take a bite of Dragon’s Breath, puffs of smoke will billow out of your mouth.
