WALMART TO DELIVER GROCERIES RIGHT TO YOUR REFRIGERATOR

Walmart is testing a service to deliver groceries straight to customers’ refrigerators. The retailer is partnering with August Home, a provider of smart locks and smart home accessories, to test the service. The delivery person would get access to the customer’s house using a pre-authorized one-time passcode and would put away groceries for you. Theoretically, the homeowner would be in control of the entire experience, receiving a notification that the delivery is in progress and could also watch the real-time process. Walmart is testing the system in the Silicon Valley with a handful of August Home customers.
* What about if you’re on the john and you run out of toilet paper? Will they deliver that, too?
* What’s going on here? Are people too lazy to put away their own groceries? What’s next? They put the ice cream in a bowl and spoon-feed it to you?
* “Please tell your delivery person to come back. They put everything on the wrong shelves.”
* Have you SEEN the customers at Walmart? Could they pay you enough to deliver something into what you imagine their homes would look like?
* On the other hand, you might end up with, “Dear Penthouse, I work for Walmart and you’ll never believe what happened to me!”
