TWO BURGLARS, ONE ROOSTER

Two suspects were arrested in a weekend break-in at a Northampton, Massachusetts, convenience store. Officers were called for a robbery in progress at the store at about 3:45 a.m. Sunday. They quickly found two men and a live rooster in a nearby car. The men were arrested on breaking and entering and other charges, and the stolen property was recovered. The rooster was not charged, but was taken to the station for safe keeping.
* Burp.
* Cock-a-doodle dumb.
* Let this be their wake-up call.
* No harm, no fowl?
* A live rooster? That is one wide-selection convenience store.
* Did they steal anything else?
* Why did the rooster cross the road? ‘Cause that’s where the getaway car was.
* Maybe it was a voodoo thing.
* No, I don’t think voodoo is that big in Northhampton, Massachusetts.
* Now if it had happened down near New Orleans, we’d have something.
* Maybe it was a third member of the criminal gang wearing a very convincing rooster costume.
* Look, don’t come after me. I’m just trying to help make sense of this, people.
