TURKEY WANTS TO CHANGE ITS NAME

The Turkish Foreign Minister has sent a letter to the United Nations formally requesting that his country be referred to as “Türkiye” – pronounced tur-key-YAY. The move is part of a push to rebrand the country and dissociate its name from the bird, turkey, and some negative connotations that are associated with it.
* I’m all for a change, I love turkey: Turkey – YAY! And cranberry sauce -YAY!!
* Apparently, the UN told Turkey to get stuffed.
* For an even tastier name, they could go with “Turkey’n’allthefixins.”
* In retaliation, a bunch of actual turkeys are trying to change their name, because of the negative association with the current government of Turkey. They’re thinking, maybe, torkey. Or turkeyx, like Latinx.
