TOY HALL OF FAME NOMINEES

The Strong National Museum of Play announced the finalists for National Toy Hall of Fame this year. The 12 finalists are:
1. My Little Pony
2. Masters of the Universe
3. Care Bears
4. Risk
5. Jenga
6. Magic the Gathering
7. Matchbox Cars
8. Nerf Blaster
9. Fisher-Price Corn Popper
10. Coloring book
11. The top
12. Smartphone
Three toys will be chosen by the members of the National Selection Advisory Committee, and three will be selected by the public. You can vote at the toyhalloffame.org. The 2019 inductees will be announced November 7th.
* Smartphones? Wow, welcome to the 21st century.
* The National Selection Advisory Committee for the Toy Hall of Fame. How do you suppose you get on that committee? You know it’s just the kids of the people who work at the museum.
* You might not consider Fisher-Price Corn Popper a toy exactly, but lots of weirdo kids used to fill them with ants.
* This list is bogus. If it doesn’t have the word “Wham-O” on it, it ain’t a real toy.
* Is there an age cutoff, or could some of Mommy’s toys make the list?
* When are they going to nominate the great old dangerous toys, like Lawn Darts, Sky Dancers, and the trampoline?
