TOWN MAYOR BREAKS LITTLE LEAGUE UMPIRE'S JAW
The mayor of Monee, Illinois, is accused of punching an umpire during a Saturday morning Little League baseball game, breaking his jaw. Mayor Jay Farquhar, who coached one of the teams, reportedly got upset after the ump let a seven-year-old girl try another swing after she’d struck out. Farquhar’s attorney issued a statement saying the mayor was “deeply saddened that this unfortunate situation occurred … (He) does not tolerate this type of behavior. At this time, Mr. Farquhar is not presently interested in pursuing any criminal charges or any other legal action.” Tim Nelson, the umpire who had his jaw wired shut, was dumbfounded after hearing the statement. “Now he’s making statements like I’m the bad guy? And he says he doesn’t tolerate this behavior? He was the behavior!” Nelson said.
* At least, they think that’s what he said. It came out more like, “Dhow heef fayfeen faymens?”
* Maybe the mayor’s saying he doesn’t tolerate the behavior of giving a batter a fourth swing. I mean, he did smash the guy’s jaw for doing it.
* So did the kid at least hit the ball the fourth time?
* Donald Trump, I think we just found your running mate.
* Maybe the umpire would like the mayor arrested as part of a “four strikes and you’re out” policy.
* The ump let a 7-year-old girl have another swing at bat? Well, who could just stand by and let that happen?
* This ranks right up there with the Black Sox scandal.
* The MAYOR isn’t interested in suing? Let’s go over how the system works again.
* How dumb does he think these townspeople are anyway?
* Maybe they are pretty dumb. I mean they did elect this guy.
