THE LOCKDOWN SONG, FOR KINDERGARTENERS
How sad is this: Georgy Cohen, the mother of a child who will be entering kindergarten in the coming school year, was visiting the classroom and saw a poster – the lyrics to a song about classroom lockdowns largely written in colorful markers. It’s called The Lockdown Song (the lyrics work to the tune of “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”):
“Lockdown, lockdown, lock the door / Shut the lights off, say no more / Go behind the desk and hide / Wait until it’s safe inside / Lockdown, lockdown, it’s all done / Now it’s time to have some fun!”
Cohen tweeted a picture of the poster along with the message, “This should not be hanging in my soon-to-be-kindergartener’s classroom,” she wrote.

* Well, at least it has a happy ending.
* The NRA added: “Despite the carnage you may see / Guns are good for you and me.”
* Liberals added: “Shooters made us write this song / But capital punishment still is wrong.”
* For Georgy Cohen: “Don’t let your child get shot and bleed / Home schooling is what you need.”
* Kindergarten shouldn’t be terrifying. Save the terror for 8th grade.
* PHONE TOPIC: Is this any worse than the “duck and cover” drills from the 1950’s?
