THE FAT BANK

So, “Fat banks” are here. People are now having their fat removed via liposuction and saved for later use as an anti-aging agent. Melbourne, Australia, recently got its first fat bank, run by cosmetic surgeon and dermatologist, Dr. Daniel Lanzer. The process involves cleaning, preparing and slowly freezing the fat to -310 degrees Fahrenheit. The stored fat can be kept for the patient’s entire lifetime. Dr. Lanzer uses a fat preparation machine that concentrates and purifies the fat so it’s then ready to be inserted as micro-droplets under the skin to cause smoothing, firming and tightening, as well as returning a more youthful shape back to the face. Dr, Lanzer says, “The concept of removing fat from one part of the body and injecting it into another part of the body is one of the most exciting techniques and developments in the field of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.”
* “… and my bank account.”
* I won’t be needing my old fat, I’ll just make more when I need it, thank you very much.
* Using fat to cause firming and tightening makes perfect sense – after he gives you the laughing gas.
* Imagine some old lady walking into a Fat Bank, going up to a teller, pulling out a syringe and saying, “Fill this up, and keep your hands where I can see ’em!”
* The Fat Bank has the same problems as any bank – people keep walking away with the pens, and the lipo machines.
