SURVEY: KIDS, PARENTS, MUSIC

A new survey, by learning website Kahoot, asked 2,000 parents with kids ages 3 to 12 about their relationship with pop culture. Some of the findings:
– Kids tend to get excited when their parents take an interest in or show knowledge about something they like.
– Just two in five parents were familiar with the movies “Frozen” and “Moana” as well as the “Baby Shark” song. Only 29% knew of the Cartoon Network show “Steven Universe.”
– Only 24% of parents who were shown a picture of a girl group could identify them as Fifth Harmony.
– 47% of parents revealed they can’t stand their kids’ favorite songs.
* Want to feel old? Here are some of the artists currently on Pop charts: Bad Bunny, Doja Cat, Glass Animals, Joji, Latto, Bizzarap, Yung Gravy, Jelly Roll, Marshmello, (* Now I’m hungry), Hitkidd, Burnaboy… (* What the hell? Call child services!)
* Back in my day, we had artists – with real names – you could relate to: Tupac, U2, Nas, Blur, Beck, Fugazi…
* Hey, we park them in front of the TV to babysit them, not to watch it WITH them.
* Any parent not familiar with “Frozen,” “Moana” and “Baby Shark” needs their parent card taken away.
