STATE FAIR FOODS RESTAURANT AT WALMART

Isaac Rousso, who is famous in Texas for his annual food offerings at the State Fair of Texas, will open a year-round restaurant next week inside a Plano, Texas, Walmart. Called State Fair Treats, the Plano restaurant is expected to open September 20. Rousso, 50, is a regular finalist and winner at the Big Tex Choice Award at the State Fair. This year, Rousso’s Cookie Fries were named Most Creative. Past wins include his Smoky Bacon Margarita, Deep Fried Cuban Roll, and Fried Pop Tart. The Walmart restaurant will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. serving many fair foods like the cookie fries and funnel cake fries along with corn dogs, deep-fried hash browns stuffed with bacon and cheddar cheese and some new creations. Rousso would like to see his restaurant concepts expand into Walmarts across the country.
* His business could expand almost as fast as Walmart customers, as if that’s possible.
* Ya gotta give him credit – he nailed his target audience.
* “Hey, why are all these greeting cards so greasy?”
* This would be a good time to invest in companies that make cooking oil.
* “State Fair Treats” is an okay name, but how about “Cholesterol For All”?
* “Cloggy McArtery”?
* It’s very convenient. You can order a heart defibrillation right off the menu.
* Isaac Rousso is famous in Texas? If you say so.
* Paula Deen must be thinking, “Why didn’t I do this?”
* Nobody light a match. With all that grease the place could explode.
* Okay, this is sort of funny when it’s during the state fair, but year around? That’s a culinary tragedy.
