POLL: HALF SAY THEY WON’T BE GIVING OUT HALLOWEEN CANDY

In a poll of 1,000 Americans (* the story doesn’t say who took the poll), over half said they won’t be handing out Halloween candy this year.
– About 25 percent blame inflation, saying they can’t afford to buy candy. (* Uh huh.)
– Another 23 percent said they just didn’t celebrate Halloween, leading them to not hand out candy.
– 12 percent say health and safety concerns related to the pandemic are still keeping them from answering trick-or-treaters this year.
* And a bunch of others they called just said “Bah, humbug!” and hung up.
* What I’m hearing is, these people bought and already ate up all the candy they were going to give out for Halloween.
* Worst of all, with inflation, who can afford eggs to throw at these killjoys’ houses?
* Maybe you should send your kids out a little earlier this year – they might be doing a lot of walking.
* Well, more candy for next year, I guess.
