OBESE BODY CAUSES OUT-OF-CONTROL FIRE IN CREMATORIUM

At the Hillside Chapel Crematory in Cincinnati, Ohio, the crematorium operator was in the process of cremating the remains of an overly obese person and things got a little hotter than the unit is supposed to get. An unused cremation container – the thing that holds the body as it goes through the process – was close to the, er, oven. When all the extra fat in the body burned at a higher temperature than usual, the too-hot flames spread to nearby containers and parts of the surrounding room. Fortunately, crematoriums are highly fireproof; no other bodies or parts of the building were damaged by the fire. According to Caleb Wilde, a licensed professional who runs the blog Confessions of a Funeral Director, these things can happen. He writes, “As you may realize, when a morbidly obese person is cremated, there’s a danger of what can only be called (in layman’s terms) a ‘grease fire.'”
* There’s embarrassed TO death, and then there’s embarrassed IN death.
* If only the guy had burned a few calories.
* The weird part is, in life, the guy wasn’t too hot.
* Let’s have some respect. It’s not every day that you see the most embarrassing fat story of all time.
* This is why Mike and Molly are asking for separate funeral arrangements.
* Confessions of a Funeral Director? I don’t think I want to know what they’re hiding.
* Wait, we’ve already gone this far. At least tell us how much the deceased weighed.
* I mean you’ve already called him a grease fire. How much worse can it get?
* I think the over under is 400 pounds.
