NEW WEST VIRGINIA SHERIFF STEALS METH OUT OF EVIDENCE LOCKER
A newly elected sheriff in West Virginia faces removal after being arrested three days into the job for stealing methamphetamine from the evidence locker at his previous job. Bo Williams was elected to be the top cop in Roane County in November. He started the job on Sunday, but was arrested Tuesday and accused of stealing more than $1,000 in evidence, the majority of which was meth, at his previous job as an officer in Spencer, West Virginia. Evidence bags with case numbers matching the missing evidence were found in his desk and car.
* “I’m the new sheriff, and I’m gonna snort up– er, clean up this town.”
* It was a speedy end to his career.
* I envision the meth evidence locker in West Virginia as looking like the Superdome.
* Let’s be fair: For the first two days or so, he did an exemplary job.
* They knew something was up when he plowed through 7,000 pages of paperwork Sunday and Monday.
* Wait, he left the evidence bags lying around his desk and car? So he’s not just a druggie – he’s a real slob too.
* I just hope this doesn’t give West Virginia an image problem.
* How would you like to be awaiting trial and find out your case was dismissed because the sheriff snorted the drugs?
* PHONE TOPIC: “I was fired on my first day of work.”
