NASA FINDS MORE WATER ON THE MOON
NASA announced Monday that they have found more water on the moon than previously thought. The water — which was discovered for the first time in areas outside the moon’s sunless frigid poles — is possibly trapped in “beads’’ about the size of a pencil tip in the soil. Enough water was detected in a cubic meter of soil to fill a 12-ounce bottle. The idea is that moon water could be used for everything from drinking to the extraction of oxygen from it for astronauts to breathe, as well as the manufacturing of rocket fuel. The discovery could help greatly fuel deep-space exploration, allowing humans to establish a moon base and launch deep space exploration from there.
* I’m sure Nestlé is scrambling to put together a moon mission to go claim the moon rights so they can bottle it.
* Are they sure they got a fresh sample of moon soil, or did they just happen to pick a spot where Buzz Aldrin took a leak?
* If nothing else, the water will make it easier for the astronauts to make Tang.
* This kinda makes up for the news a few weeks ago that there’s too much radiation on the moon for humans to live on the surface. Well, not really.
