MOST POPULAR SUPER BOWL SNACK (YEAH, RIGHT)
Online marketplace Bid-on-Equipment has gathered up some Google statistics on what foods Americans have been searching for the big game. For years we’ve been told it’s chicken wings. Americans are projected to eat 1.4 billion chicken wings this Sunday. But that’s not the most popular Super Bowl snack food. According to the results, which analyzed Google searches for each state across the country as well as the top 20 largest cities, Super Bowl fans nationwide love their wieners (* I know I love MY wiener!). The cocktail wiener was the most searched Super Bowl snack in eleven states across the country – including Colorado, Connecticut, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin.
* Again, there is nothing – NOTHING – America can’t turn into a competition.
* This is bogus. Just ’cause people searched it more, doesn’t mean they’re going to eat more of it. I mean, people also Google “haggis” to find out what it’s made of.
* I’ve been to a lot of Super Bowl parties, and not once have I ever seen a cocktail wiener. Not counting the time my weird cousin Wesley streaked the party.
* Frankly, this factoid sounds absolutely made up, like it was concocted by the White House legal team.
* I think “online marketplace Bid-on-Equipment” is a front for Armour Vienna Sausages.
