MOM WRITES TEENAGER A TARDY NOTE
A California mom shared a note that her teenage daughter asked her to write. Nicole Poppic, from Clarksburg, California, was asked by her daughter, Cara, to write her a tardy note because she was late for class. Here is what Nicole wrote:
“To Whom It May Concern: Cara is tardy this morning as a result of a condition known as teenage-ism. Adolescents across our great nation are afflicted and there is no known cure. Symptoms are multitudinous, but this particular morning she suffered from an inability to remove herself from her bed, and also felt the need to talk back to her birth giver. She seems to be recovering her senses after watching her cell phone fly out the window. Please call me if there is another flare-up.”
In a blog post, Poppic explained that Cara refused to hand the note to the attendance office at her school, so Poppic helped her out and delivered the note with her. Poppic also explained later that she retrieved the cell phone, but kept it for four days as punishment.
* Isn’t withholding a cellphone from a teenager a violation of the Geneva Conventions?
* Anyway, having a smart-ass parent is punishment enough, no?
* Maybe next time she should get Dad to write it?
* We can only hope Mom remembers this teaching moment when Cara comes home pregnant, with a tattoo.
* What mother refers to herself as a “birth giver”?
* We get it: you’re her mom. Let’s not oversell this.
* If Mom keeps using words like “multitudinous” the kid’s going to be even more late.
* I will say tossing the phone out the window was a nice touch.
