MAYOR DEFIES LOCKDOWN RULES, HIDES IN COFFIN WHEN COPS COME

The mayor of a small town in Peru, out drinking with friends, tried to play dead after being caught by police violating coronavirus lockdown rules. Mayor Jamie Rolando Urbina Torres can be seen in a photograph lying in an open casket wearing a face mask when officers came to arrest him and his buddies on Monday night in the town of Tantará, in the south of the country. Police say he violated curfew and social distancing laws, and was drunk when he was arrested. It is not clear exactly why there were open caskets close at hand. Torres has previously been accused by locals of failing to take the threat of the virus seriously and failing to implement safety precautions in the town. Angry locals say Torres has spent just eight days in the town since the start of the lockdown, and has failed to put in place any local safety measures.
* Although he’s been great at keeping the local bars in business.
* He might want to hang on to that coffin.
* Drunk? Sounds like he was just getting a jump on the embalming process.
* Heck, if you want to make someone obey social distancing and curfew, jail is a good way to do it.
* Yeah, that’s adorable. Now let me tell you what OUR leader’s done during the pandemic.
