MASS MINK RELEASE CALLED TERRORISM
Somebody let loose an estimated 40,000 mink from a Minnesota mink farm over Sunday night. Investigators believe more than one person dismantled the exterior fence at Lang Farm and then released all the mink – between 30,000 and 40,000 – from their cages. The vandalism caused an estimated loss of $750,000 for the business that raises minks for pelts. Domesticated mink generally will not survive in the wild because they lack natural survival skills. Those that do could have a negative impact on the native wildlife, and those released were let go near a wildlife management area and wilderness preservation area. Local county Sheriff Don Gudmundson says while the feds might be hesitant to call the event domestic terrorism, he is not. He called the group of people who released the mink “nitwits.” “They are not interested in animal rights, they are interested in chaos,” Gudmundson said.
* This is how you get Planet of the Weasels, people.
* Sorry, Minnesota – time to get the heavy boots out again.
* I think we’ve got the opening scene for the next season of “Fargo”.
* Are people still buying mink coats? Is that still a thing?
* Maybe if they brought in some of those giant Florida snakes to eat the minks, and then they’ll all die off in the winter freeze.
