MANY STARBUCKS HAVE THREE OTHER STARBUCKS WITHIN A MILE

There’s an old joke about how they’re opening a new Starbucks in the lobby of an existing Starbucks. That’s not far from the truth. BMO Capital Markets has performed a stock analysis and found that store overlap has grown to such an extreme point that the close proximity of all the Starbucks are hurting each other’s sales. For example, in California, 75 percent of Starbucks stores have a second Starbucks store within a one-mile radius. And the typical Starbucks in the U.S. has 3.6 Starbucks locations within a one-mile radius.
* That’s sure is a latte Starbucks!
* This explains why everybody’s so jittery.
* I’m not going to worry until the stores start raising armies and declaring war on each other.
* Too many Starbucks equals shorter lines. We win!
