MAN TRIES TO STEAL POLICE CAR WITH COP IN IT

Fort Pierce, Florida police Officer Robbie Troutman was sitting in his patrol vehicle around 5 AM on July 17, at the main police station writing a report. Suddenly, he heard the rear passenger side door handle make noise and then the front passenger side door handle make noise. Troutman opened his door saw a man, later identified as Aaron Orlando Rodriguez III, run away and hide behind another vehicle. They detained Rodriguez, who told them he noticed the car running, so he had attempted to steal the vehicle so he would have a ride home.
