MAN SAVED FROM FOUR CROCODILES

In Zimbabwe, a fisherman narrowly escaped with his life when he was mauled by four crocodiles and dragged underwater. Alexander Chimedza had a crocodile clamped onto each of his limbs but was saved after a 40-minute struggle as his friends threw down stones from the bank. The incident happened back in January while Mr. Chimedza was looking for worms to use as bait. He said, “First, one of them tried to grab my left hand, but I instinctively dodged, but another one grabbed my right hand.” He was pulled into the murky water, where a third crocodile latched onto his thigh, and a fourth croc joined in the feeding frenzy by biting through his ankle. Meanwhile friends and passersby lobbed rocks at the predators. He was finally able to get one hand free and shoved it down the croc’s throat to make it to let him go. Experts say it can be an effective last resort to make a crocodile let go if you can’t reach its eyes. (* Handy tip, remember that!) He was then able to grab a long stick offered by his friends who pulled him to the shore and flagged down an ambulance. He spent 40 days in the hospital and had four operations including skin grafts, metal plates for crushed bones, and reconstructive surgery.
* Man, those crocodiles REALLY don’t like people messing with their worms.
* I guess his friends had to wait to see how things turned out before they called the ambulance.
* They didn’t want to say goodbye to their old chum.
* For his birthday, his friends got him two pairs of Crocs.
* Great – now the crocodiles are working in teams.
* This must be where the expression “Up to your ass in alligators” comes from.
