MAN ROBS BANKS TO PAY BACK MONEY HE STOLE FROM HIS MOTHER

An admitted drug addict is charged with trying to rob three Manhattan banks so he could repay money he stole from his mother. Daniel Steven Bertini, 39, was caught on surveillance video using a crowbar to unsuccessfully break into the tellers’ areas at a KeyBank around 4:30 a.m. Monday and a Bank of America about 25 minutes later. After coming up empty-handed at both locations, he then fled several blocks to a Chase bank and managed to swipe about $915 in coins. Police caught up with Bertini at the Chase Bank, and recovered the coin-filled bag and a crowbar. Bertini admitted to cops that he had a cocaine habit and stole money from his mom – and that “he wanted to pay back his mother before she noticed the missing money.”
* Yeah, he could have gotten into real trouble with his mom.

* This is not gonna help his street cred when he gets to prison.
* Moron. As if his mom’s not going to notice her money’s suddenly been replaced with three pounds of coins.
